Feel My Love

I just finished work on a visually driven short film directed by Naveen Raj centered on the simple story of a couple falling in love. Of course, love is never easy. Raj dramatized a very universal theme when he asked;

“How could they fall in love when feeling is the only thing they have in common? There is this huge barrier of communication they must overcome to make the relationship work."

The result was the short film “Feel My Love”.

Christina Roman and Leandro Garcia: visions of a dream girl

Jeremy Cubas on cameraRaj directs Garcia on setLeandro Garcia played a deaf man desperate to communicate with his dream girl despite the barriers he faces.  This young woman, whom I played, is blind.  So how can they communicate, never-mind fall in love?

Playing a blind woman was an amazing artistic challenge, and as the director wrote, "the most challenging role of the film."  As an actor we become incredibly reliant on our eyes to connect and communicate with other actors on set.  Although my eyes were open, I was not focusing and could not allow myself to make the eye contact I so desperately wanted.  This frustration easily leant itself to the role and the frustration this withdrawn young woman must feel.  She is content when alone, but communication with other people only becomes a struggle.

The film was shot over several days in beautiful parks overlooking the skyline. The entire crew was wonderful to work with including Jeremy Cubas, Oscar Lara, and Barak Speiser.

Update: Many of the cast and crew and I worked together in other projects including "MasterMind" and "Eternal Night"
